Basic Taxonomy and CMS Metadata

Heretto provides the ability to classify and filter content based on metadata. You can create and manage your own custom taxonomy, then apply those terms to your content as metadata. Metadata and taxonomy are powerful tools when managing large sets of content and enable you to easily find content in a large repository.

Branching

Heretto's Branching system enables you to create and maintain | multiple versions of your content and easily merge changes between them.

Configurable Authoring User Interface

The Configurable Authoring User Interface module provides the ability to customize the Topic Editor interface (both the menus and the page) to match your organization's specific business goals or to simplify complex XML structures for your content authors.

Custom Workflows

Heretto's Custom Workflows offer the ability to specify custom Heretto workflows that align with your organization's content development process. This can include custom workflow steps and built-in triggers, such as status change or publishing triggers. We can then configure the workflows available to you in Heretto.

DITA OT Publishing

Heretto fully supports the DITA Open Toolkit (DITA OT), an open-source publishing engine, and any specializations applied to it. With DITA Open Toolkit Publishing, you can publish to a wide variety of outputs using the DITA OT, including PDF, ePub, ° JavaHelp, XHTML, HTML5, WebHelp, and more.

DITA Specialization

Heretto supports all versions of the DITA open standard out-of-the-box. DITA Specialization enables organizations to specialize DITA elements or document types to meet their specific needs. DITA Specialization is available with Professional, Business, and Enterprise subscriptions.

Granular Permissions

Granular Permissions allows Hereto Administrators the ability to set permissions on specific files or sets of files that restrict or allow access for different user groups. You can set permissions for individual files, folders, or entire repositories and determine whether members of a group have read or write access to those files.

Groups and roles

Heretto Groups & Roles allow for better control over different teams and departments by segmenting your users into different groups. Administrators can manage permissions at a group level, rather than an individual user level.

Learning and training content types

Heretto's advanced authoring user interface, designed specifically to support and enhance the creation of DITA Learning and Training content. Learning & Training Content Types includes access to several additional topic types, including: Learning Map, Learning Assessment, Learning Content, Learning Overview. Learning Plan, and Learning Summarv. Learning & Training Content Types are commonly used to create content that can be published to a Learning Management System (LMS).

Localization

Heretto's Localization system enables you to create localization jobs that you can send for translation, and after translation upload back into Heretto. In Heretto, you can store, publish, and manage any Unicode language. I Note: We do not charge for each language that you want to translate into, but we do charge for the number of files you create. If you translate a topic into another language, our system creates two files: the source topic and the locale for that topic. Locale files are counted towards your total file limit.

MathML support

The WIRIS MathML editor enables you to create and edit complex equations. Note: The WIRIS MathML editor must be licensed through WIRIS. For more information, please contact your Heretto representative.

Non-DITA XML

Heretto is built on a general purpose native XML database, which can be used for non-DITA content in specialized circumstances. Call for details.

Output API

Heretto's Output API provides API access to Heretto's publishing functions, enabling you to initiate publishes from outside systems.

oXygen Integration

oXygen Integration provides the ability to integrate with other tools, such as oXygen that utilize a WebDAV connection to access your Heretto content library and content for editing.

PDF Generator

Heretto's PDF Generator enables easy customization of PDF 9 templates using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). These templates s are then available for push-button publishing within the Heretto system.

Personal Customer Success Manager

Heretto's Business and Enterprise customers are assigned a Customer Success Manager (CSM) that can provide training, assistance with configurations, and other personalized support.

Private infrastructure

Heretto Enterprise customers receive a cloud-hosted SaaS solution, but have a private server and infrastructure. This means that your organization can benefit from more personalized infrastructure management and maintenance scheduling, along with other benefits.

Private publishing queue

A Private Publishing Queue provides faster and dedicated resources for DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT), but is only available with an Enterprise subscription, which includes a dedicated server. If your organization produces large volumes of output, you'll be best served by a Private Publishing Queue.

Prototyping servers available

The Prototyping Server module includes an additional server for prototyping custom application code before deploying it to a live Heretto instance. This module is useful if vou require a lot of configuration and customization to your instance of Heretto.

Repository API

(formerly REST API) Open standards drive interoperability and collaboration. Heretto's Repository API makes accessing open • standard DITA content simple and efficient.

Revision History

Heretto provides robust history tracking including: time, edit, user, and content changes. You can add notes to version history and see red-line changes to content.

SimplyXML Integration

"Heretto supports integration with Content Mapper, a Microsoft Word based authoring tool by SimpleXML that helps you create your DITA content in a familiar interface. Content Mapper enables easy authoring of content in Word, but stores all the DITA files in Heretto where you can take advantage of the full-featured CCMS for content management.

Single sign on (SAML and LDAP)

Heretto can authenticate users using common SO technologies, such as LDAP and SAML, so you can keep your authentication centralized.

Standard assignments and workflows

Heretto's Assignments & Workflows system enables you to assign work to your colleagues and easily track it through to completion. You can include topics, maps, or combinations of files in an assignment and use one of Heretto's standard workflows.

Standard reports and metrics

Provides access to Heretto's Reports interface and a set of standard reports. As new reports are built and released as standard, certified reports, they are automatically deployed as a part of this feature.

Static Site Generator

Heretto's Static Site Generator provides an economical approach to delivering your content in a full-featured documentation portal. The Static Site Generator includes several templates that you can use and customize to set up your documentation portal and provides the ability to publish content to an HTML docs site that you can host or embed in your website.

Template Management

Heretto's Template Management system provides power users the ability to create and manage their own topic and map templates.

WebDAV Access

WebDAV Access provides the ability to integrate with other tools, such as oXygen that utilize a WebDAV connection to access your Heretto Content Library and content for editing.

XTM Integration

XTM International is a Localization Management System that, when integrated with Heretto, enables you to seamlessly send localization jobs to XTM and fetch translated content when it's ready. XTM also provides robust localization management tools, such as cost estimation, translation memory, and a translation interface.
